About This Game FreezeME is a A 3D platformer in the style of the 90s-era but wait there is a twist! The main character “R” has one special tool – a camera around her neck. This camera allows her to literally freeze the objects she photographs. This brown-eyed moppet with a camera around her neck is hot on the trail of her best friend, “M,” who has been abducted by the dastardly Fat the Cat that longs to create what he describes as a “Dog-Free-World”. While this game is clearly inspired on Super Mario 64, it also reminded me a bit of Banjo-Kazooie and other Rare games from back then, and that's no small feat.The puzzles are pretty good, and use well the unique abilities of the character. From the little I played, I can see there is a lot to find, and lots to do on each level.The only negatives I can say about this are that the game can be a bit overwhelming at first, it kinda makes you read the whole text tutorial - without interaction or anything - to learn the basics. There is some strange camera jank/bugs, but nothing old platformers didn't also have.Worth buying for the genre fans, for sure.. Cool game, but the controls and the camera aren't great. They are definitely a problem at times. But I at least got used to it after a few hours. Beat the final boss just minutes before I wrote this review.Pros* It's a freaking 3d platformer!!!* Lot's of content, up to 20 hours playtime* Colorful (that's a pro for me at least :))* It was actually pretty fun.Cons* Controls are a little weird. And I don't recommend using KB+M as I did. It's probably much better with a gamepad.* Camera is really annoying at times. Especially when it changes the view for you automatically, and there's nothing you can do to change it. It was especially a problem at one point right before the final boss. Sometimes it's also hard to see the character.* Simple graphics and textures. It certainly wasn't horrible though.* There was an area in the second level that was completely yellow and super bright. I could barely see anything.Fun game with a lot of stuff to do. But it suffers from the typical "3d platform control and camera issues" that a lot of 3d platformers do. I still liked it though. So much that I actually did everything except get all those salamanders.. Was Given a Early copy From the Dev Himself.Alright i saw this game and was like "Well this is just a Super Mario 64 clone." and Basically IT IS With some added mechanics and the cool Freeze Camera. Thats what makes it great Its the kind of game we need on PC and the potential for a Modding community and Level editor could make this game Sky Rocket into one of the best 3D Platformers on the PC.Main Mechanic:At First i didnt Think i would need the camera freezing but i found myself using it way more as i played and it works pretty well. The only Gripe i have about it is the controls for it. it plants your feet right where you are at and can only Freeze whats right infront of your it doesnt turn you around or anything. Small Issue for me at least.Controls (Xbox ONE Controller): The controls are Pretty stiff when it comes to movement You WILL find your self Jumping and diving through the entire game because the Speed R (thats the main characters name) runs at is Pretty slow.This only becomes a problem when you have your sound on be cause each time you jump theres one sound you character makes and every time theres ONE sound you character makes. Sights and Sounds:For a game made in Unity its Beautiful. I never had a gripe about what something looked like i just took it all in.The music In the game is really good, a bit repetitive but its nothing annoying. The sounds of most of the enemies have a sound they make is straight ripped from Dispicible Me. Some of the sounds in the game are WAY too Loud. Which im sure are going to be fixed soon because I did mention them on a stream with the dev Present.For a dev team made of only 1 person, FreezeME is pretty great i can't wait to see what else is done with this game and what other games he releases in the future.TL;DR/Pros Cons listPros:- Super Mario 64/Galaxy Clone On PC- Good Graphics- Open Levels Without feeling empty- Dev Is Open to almost anything- After the first final boss fight you unlock something super SICK- Music is Good Surprise- Only $14!Cons:- Some SFX volumes are Wonky- Stiffish controls- Quicksand F QuicksandFinal words:This game NEEDS Modding / Level editor it would take this game to Super high heights.I Give this game a 7 out of 10. so much fun!They have captured the excitement and joy of Nintendo games and made it even better!I love games like this.I like playing and my 5yo loves to watch.. this game gave my cancer cancer
